Safety & Cancellation Policies

Rental Cancellation Policies


  • 24 hours notice is required for all rental reservations.
  • There is a $15 cancellation penalty per boat per day for less than 24 hours notice
  • This policy is flexible if we are not completely booked. However, if we are turning away customer's to hold boats that you decide to cancel within the 24 hour period; you will be charged the cancellation fee. 
  • For any group rental booking we require 48 hours notice to cancel. If proper notice is not given then any deposit will not be refunded.

Lesson & Tour Cancellation Policies


48 hours notice is required to cancel a tour or lesson reservation. For cancellations within the allowed time a full refund will be given.

School Group & Kids Camp Cancellation Policies


14 days notice is required to cancel a school group or kids camp reservation. For cancellations within the allowed time a full refund will be given.

Safety/Rental Policies:


  • There is a two hour minimum on all rentals
  • Each paddler must sign a waiver and provide RPK with a signed credit card imprint as a deposit
  • If you plan to paddle alone you must provide proof that you are capable of performing a solo paddle float rescue
  • Anyone under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult or one of our instructors
  • Any person under the age 19 must have their parent sign the RPK waiver agreement, and provide a credit card prior to renting
  • Life jackets or PFD’s (personal flotation device) must be worn at all times while on the water
  • Maximum one person per seat in kayaks
  • An animal counts as one person
  • Our hours of operation are subject to change without notice due to inclement weather or other safety hazards that may arise
  • For safety, people intending an overnight trip must provide RPK with a float plan prior to departure which includes proposed route, destination, trip duration, and estimated time of return. Should you not return within a reasonable time of your estimation the proper emergency units will be dispatched and you will be responsible for any and all costs incurred in this operation.
  • Participants accept the kayak in its present condition and accept full responsibility for the care of the equipment they am renting. You agree to pay for any damage to the equipment and to replace the equipment at full retail value if it is lost or stolen. You understand that Rocky Point Kayak will charge a $25 late fee if equipment is returned more than 15 minutes after closing, and a $50 late fee if equipment is returned more than 45 minutes after closing. Rocky Point Kayak will charge a rate double that of the regular rental rate for time exceeded that inconveniences other customers waiting for your vessel.
