The calm waters at Rocky Point have an abundance of bird and wildlife just a short paddle from shore. Stunning scenery and secluded beaches provide a quick wilderness escape despite being only 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver. We offer hourly, daily, or weekly rentals, of kayaks, canoes and stand up paddleboards. In addition, we offer Paddle Canada certified lesson programs and tours, and many weekly drop-in social paddles. Our rental fleet consists of single, double, family-friendly double kayaks, canoes, voyageur canoes, dragon boats, and stand up paddle boards.
STAFF
Jamie Cuthbert
Jamie was born and raised in Port Moody, in fact, he attended pre-school at Rocky Point, had his first swim lesson at Rocky Point and his first job at Pajo’s at Rocky Point. In only seemed fitting that Jamie’s road to self-employment at the age of 21, started with a small in-line skate rental and lesson business at Rocky Point. This venture lead to other businesses, the creation of Rocky Point Ice Cream in 1997,Rocky Point Kayak in 2001 and an Italian cafe in 2002. Needless to say, you will find Jamie at the park most days, stop in and say hi!

Megan Lynch
One of my favorite memories of kayaking is from the first time I tried it at camp when I was younger; so it is no wonder that I love my job as an instructor for the Kids Kayak Camp at Rocky Point.
I am certified by Paddle Canada as an Introduction to Kayaking Instructor, and have a certificate in CPR-C and First Aid from St. John’s Ambulance. I frequent Saltspring Island to enjoy the kayaking scenery and have also kayaked on Corfu, the largest Ionian island of Greece. Oh yah, one more thing, I am a master at Capture the Flag and The Name Game.
Elizabeth Phillips
Elizabeth Phillips is a Paddle Canada certified Introduction to Kayaking and Level 1 instructor. She has been paddling since 2000 and teaching sea kayaking to individuals and groups of all ages for Rocky Point Kayak since 2004.
Elizabeth’s patient teaching style focuses on assessing the individual needs and styles of her students to help build skill and confidence at a pace that is right for each paddler. Elizabeth also brings her professional background in environmental science and education to her passion for paddling. Students who have never paddled before will learn how to relax and smile at their accomplishments while enjoying Rocky Point’s natural environment in safety and comfort!
Coreena Rorke
Coreena moved to the West Coast in 2003 with visions of the quintessential West Coast Sea Kayaker in her mind. The first thing she did was jump into a kayak, and has since never stopped pursuing her passion for the ocean and sea kayaking and loves to share her enthusiasm with others through instruction.
Coreena is a certified Paddle Canada Flat Water and Level 1 Sea Kayak Instructor and Paddle Canada Instructor Trainer Level 1. Her favourite thing to do is long distance kayak trips. Coreena has travelled to such places as Belize, the Johnstone Strait and Clayoquot Sound in her kayak and has been fortunate enough to share the ocean along side Killer Whales, Sharks, Eagle Rays, Porpoises, Seals and Sea Turtles. Coreena has become a pillar in the Rocky Point Kayak family and her passion for kayaking is contagious!
Greg Morrissey
The son of a boat builder, I grew up in and around the water and helped build my first Kayak at a very young age. I have been on many kayak trips and tried out many kinds of Kayaks since then. As an archaeologist I have had the opportunity to paddle on all three Canadian Oceans as well as the coasts of Mexico and New Zealand. I began working with Rocky point Kayak in 2007 and got my Paddle
Canada Sea Kayaking Instructor certification in 2009 and as a Anmore volunteer firefighter I always keep my first aid training up to date. Through many years with the Canadian scouting movement, a general love of the outdoors I have learned all sorts of skills that apply to Kayaking, the outdoors and wilderness survival and I am always happy to share this knowledge. I really enjoy teaching people new skills, there is nothing more rewarding then the smile on someone’s face when they do something that they did not think they could do.
Curtis Sabot
Curtis Sabot has been enthusiastically guiding and teaching at Rocky Point since 2009. He is a certified Paddle Canada Introduction to Sea Kayak Instructor and a Flat Water Stand-up Paddle Board Instructor. Curtis is a local high school Biology teacher and a great asset to Rocky Point.
